Grammy Awards 2011: Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Katy Perry

Eminem, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Britney Spears are set to perform at 2011 Grammy Awards.
Grammy Awards attract the biggest and best names to perform on their stage and it looks like this year will be no different. While the actually Grammy Awards show doesn’t air until February 13th, they announced the nominees a few weeks ago and today they confirmed some of the performers who will be on the show.

Leading off the  Grammy Awards 2011 performers are Eminem who is also has 10 Grammy nominations this year. Lady Gaga has also confirmed that she will be performing. She too is up for multiple Grammy’s this year with six nominations. Cee Lo Green who had one of the biggest hits of the summer with his song “Fuck You” will take the stage as well. Cee Lo’s song is only a few months old, but it has seen resurgence in popularity in recent weeks when Gwyneth Paltrow did a cover version of it on the hit show Glee.  She is now working on collaboration with him and is rumored to be performing with him this weekend on Saturday Night Live.

Rounding out the performers is Katy Perry who has had a stellar year with her sophomore album and is also up for four Grammy’s, Arcade Fire who has three Grammy nods and country star Miranda Lambert who also has three nominations.

There have been rumors that Britney Spears will be performing, but so far there has not been any confirmation to that. Britney is not up for any awards, but her current single “Hold it Against Me” is tearing up the charts and setting records with how much radio airplay it is getting. Her new album comes out in March so a great performance on the Grammys could help keep her momentum up as she heads into the release of her album and the rumored tour that may follow.

With or without Britney this is already a top notch lineup so it looks like we are in for a night of great music when the 2011 Grammy Awards air in about a month.
