Kanye West Apologises For Britney Twitter Outburst

It has been a busy few days for Kanye West, even by his standards – his H.A.M. single with Jay-Z hit No 2 on iTunes, he poked fun at Britney Spears on Twitter and he blew a cool $180,000 on a customised watch featuring his face!

Kanye took to his Twitter page on Friday to celebrate the success of H.A.M., which was beaten to the top of the iTunes chart by Britney’s new single, Hold It Against Me.

In a post to the Toxic singer, Yeezy referred to his faux pas at the 2009 VMAs when he ran on stage and interrupted Taylor Swift. “Yo Britney,” he tweeted. “I’m really happy for you and I’mma let you be #1, but me and Jay-Z single is one of the best songs of all time.”

Kanye swears it was intended as a joke, but angry Britney fans vented their frustrations on the Runaway rapper. He amended the post to add “LOL” at the end before eventually deleting it completely.
Defending himself, he wrote: “On a serious note, I’m truly happy for Avril Lavigne and Britney Spears… No hate in 2011! I thought LOL signified a joke… I didn’t get the 2011 LOL doesn’t signify a joke anymore memo.
Britney’s manager Adam Leber took the opportunity to have a pop at the rapper, sarcastically thanking him on the singer’s behalf. “Thanks for ‘letting’ us be #1,” he wrote. “Much appreciated.”
