Ke$ha: Britney Is A Pop Icon

Ke$ha says it was an “honour” to write a song for Britney Spears.

Britney is due to release her seventh studio album, Femme Fatale, later this month and has collaborated with a host of big names. Pop star Ke$ha has penned Till the World Ends, which will be Britney’s next single. The up-tempo dance track was posted on Perez Hilton’s website yesterday afternoon and Ke$ha is thrilled with the response to the song because she is such a huge Britney fan.

"I consider myself a songwriter before and above everything else, so it's an honour to write for one of pop music's biggest icons,” Ke$ha told MTV News. “And I hope it gets everyone's ass on the dance floor cuz y'all know that's what K-Monay does best!"

The lyrics to the energetic party song see Britney encouraging people to “dance till the world ends”.

"This kitten got your tongue tied in knots I see/ Spit it out 'cause I'm dying for company," she teases later on.

The 29-year-old superstar is fiercely proud of her new record and has claimed some of the songs are “revolutionary”.

Britney – who teamed up with stars including will.i.am and Rodney ‘Darkchild’ Jerkins for Femme Fatale – believe her latest material proves she has evolved as an artist.

“I wanted to make a fierce dance record where each song makes you want to get up and move your body in a different way,” she told V magazine. “This record is for the clubs, or something you play before you go out at night. It’s definitely my edgiest and most mature sound yet.”
