A partial list of the 2011 Grammy performers were announced on Thursday and it seems the biggest night in music just got even BIGGER. '
Eminem, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Arcade Fire, Cee Lo Green, and Miranda Lambert are all set to perform at the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards show in LA next month. But all the buzz is about one still unconfirmed performer, the one and only Britney Spears.
On Jan. 11th, celebrity blogger Perez Hilton tweeted this:
Sources reveal exclusively to PerezHilton.com that Britney Spears will be performing at the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 13th.
Wow! Wow! Wow!
We're shocked! We didn't expect her to do much promo for this new album!
This will be Spears' first "live" TV performance in years!
Right now there are no plans for her to open the show but we're told that "she's been rehearsing for weeks and it's gonna be a truly great performance!"
Sadly, the rumor that the pop star would perform her just-released hit single 'Hold It Against Me' on the Feb. 13th, award show was confirmed as false. Her record label pooh-poohed the notion to People magazine.
"I really doubt it," another Brit source said.
We all love nothing more than a good comeback story and right about now, Spears really needs a good comeback.
The singer has not performed at a live televised award show since the infamous 2007 MTV VMAs. And we all remember what happened at that show, right. So will Brit Brit make a triumphant return to the spotlight at the Grammys awards this year? No one knows for sure, but it would definitely make for fantastic live television!
