Britney Spears has broken Taylor Swift's record for the top-selling digital single debut by a female solo artist. Spears' "Hold It Against Me" sold 411,000 downloads this week, besting Swift's previous record for "Today Was a Fairytale," which sold 325,000 in its first week last year. Spears also improved upon her own record, notes Yahoo Music, as her last big digital seller, 2008's "Womanizer," sold 303,000 copies at the end of 2008.
"Hold It Against Me" sales were strong enough to rank it as the fourth-biggest first-week seller in digital history.
