Britney Spears Keeps Her Record Even With Gaga 99cent Freebie

BILLBOARD Confirms That BORN THIS WAY Will Sell 1.15 Million In First Week !!! OOPS I DID IT AGAIN 1.3 Million !!!

For two days last week, Lady Gaga’s Born This Way was sold on Amazon.com at the price of 99 cents. Amazon also gave buyers 20 GB of free cloud storage with the purchase. Billboard Magazine created an uproar when they announced that sales from the Amazon deal (which could top 500,000 copies) will be counted and blamed the uproar over this on Britney Spears fans. However, anger was widespread to fans of other artists and of pop music in general. Some Lady Gaga fans responded by buying 20 copies each and sending the digital copies to their friends.

Rihanna Defends Performance with Britney Spears

Not too long after a rather racy performance of her hit single “S&M,” singer Rihanna has stepped up to take on the criticism that her and fellow performer Britney Spears have received, especially from a kiss the two shared at the end.

The Parents Television Council issued a statement, declaring the performance and the kiss oversexualized and not an accident, and that ABC and their sponsers “knew EXACTLY what they were getting.” The organization has also called for a boycott of the networks sponsers, which indclude Old Navy, McDonalds, and Chevrolet.

Rihanna later appeared on the Today show and defended the performance, stating “"There are people who are going to think it's too sexy, but you're always going to find that. People are going to always talk whether you're doing bad or good."

As for the kiss, Rihanna pointed out that “Nothing popped out. We didn't make out.”

Looking at the video itself, it would appear that Rihanna is correct. The kiss seems to have taken place with Spears rather quickly, and it seemed that the camera cut away before anything was actually shown. .

'I Wanna Go' Music Video Concept ?

BreatheHeavy.com says that the details on Britney's I Wanna Go music video have arrived, and while there is no choreography, there is a brilliant concept!

Brit began shooting the video today, and will finish up tomorrow in L.A.. The video, directed by Chris Marrs Piliero, is “very personality and action driven.” It will play up Britney's sense of humor, and is "not really indicative of the song at all."

The video will open with a mock press conference, and the paparazzi will ask Britney inappropriate questions. The singer curses them out and storms off, before later discovering that they’re all robots. “It seems like Britney is hung up on the press, which is ironic because for the most part they seem to be leaving her alone,'.

Britney will play out fantasies in her head, which include making out with a fan, flashing a cop, and getting frisky with a hot star! Although we’re not quite sure who her main man will be, our source tells us they’ve already reached out to Matthew McConaughey and Kellan Lutz.

The handsome actor will show up and save Britney from the paparazzi, before they hook up in the backseat of a car, where she discovers he’s a robot too!

The video ends back at the press conference, where you discover that Britney was just daydreaming. She then walks off with the actor, who turns around and smiles at the camera, his eyes glaring just like those of the robot paparazzi.
Britney is going to definitely look sexy, but in an edgy way — expect to see the star in combat boots, and a studded, punk-rock get-up at the press conference. “Diesel has signed on as a sponsor, and practically all the costs are being covered by sponsorships, priced around $300,000,” our source said.

Britney Spears Will Perform At Billboard Awards ?

Britney's back!

Rumors has it that Britney Spears is heading to Las Vegas this weekend to perform live at Sunday's 2011 Billboard Music Awards.

The 29-year-old pop star will take the stage two times.

Spears will do one performance — potentially the opening number — with Rihanna, 23. The duo will perform Rihanna's hit song "S&M."

Spears will also be performing for the first time ever with Nicki Minaj, 26. Spears and Minaj will partner up for a remix of Spears' hit "Till The World Ends."

Minaj first met Spears in April. Later that month, Spears confirmed on her website that Minaj would be joining her Femme Fatale tour this summer.

"I'm obviously honored to be out with Britney," Minaj told Us of the tour. "She's freakin' paved the way for so many things right now in pop culture. I'm excited to be on with her."

So what will Spears' return to the live television be like? "It's gonna be big," a source says. "People will definitely be talking about it the next day."

The 2011 Billboard Music Awards air Sunday night at 8:00 p.m. on ABC.

Britney Spears Shows-off Her New Abs

For most people, the idea of working out for more than six hours a day might sound like nothing short of torture.

But Britney Spears can't get enough. For the last six weeks, she's been training for 90 minutes a day, followed by another five hours of dance rehearsals in preparation for her North American tour, kicking off June 16 in Sacramento.

"I'm pumped up!" Spears tells PEOPLE inside her cozy dressing room on the Sony lot in Culver City, Calif. "We've been working hard. And the costumes are coming next week. This is the exciting part, when all the pieces – the masterpiece – come together."

During Spears's month and a half of prep time, trainer Derek DeGrazio has cooked, packaged and labeled meals (like baked fish and broccoli) and snacks (such as celery with almond butter) for the 29-year-old pop star, six days a week.

She does get a break from all the discipline, though. Sunday, says Spears, is her "cheat day."

But it's certainly not derailing her efforts. Spears's workouts and her 1,500-calorie-a-day nutrition plan have whipped her into top tour shape.

"You can see the tone in her muscles – her arms, legs and abs," says DeGrazio. "She looks amazing."

Britney Spears Harper's Bazaar Interview

Britney Spears is Back: The Interview

She's not yet 30, but the pop icon has lived a life and a half in public. Now, with a new hit album and world tour, the beat goes on.

Britney Spears is on the phone from rehearsals in Los Angeles, where she is busy singing, dancing, and "It's Britney, bitch"-ing in preparation for her summer tour. She sounds energized and positive, occasionally flashing a wry sense of humor that those who see her only on TV and in the tabloids never glimpse.

Professionally, Britney has a lot to feel good about: Her new album, Femme Fatale, is receiving the best reviews of her almost-20-year career. "I've worked so hard on this album, so it's really refreshing," she says. "I feel like I'm drinking a tall glass of homemade sweet tea on a really hot, beautiful day."

LAURA BROWN: What has been your best fashion look?
BRITNEY SPEARS: I went to the Grammys in 2002, and I had really curly, curly hair. I had a red dress on. It wasn't short and saucy; it was a long red dress. That dress was fun.

LB: What was your biggest fashion mistake?
BS: Ten years ago at the Billboard awards, I wore this orange hat and orange bra and orange booty pants and purple fishnets. Oh, and I had an orange jacket on.

LB: Was it Halloween?
BS [laughs]: No, it wasn't Halloween. I actually thought I looked hot at the time. But, um, I definitely stood out. I thought it was just a marvelous idea to wear this purple and orange outfit; it was like high school colors. I was a cheerleader for a school I didn't know. People were talking about it, but not in a good way.

LB: Your hair is looking long and lustrous. Are you whipping it back and forth?
BS: Yeah, I love ponytails. I'm a wash-and-go girl. But, oh yeah, I like to whip it.

LB: Are you enjoying dancing again?
BS: I love to dance, so it's very exciting. The tour rehearsals have been going really well. I think it will be my best show yet.

LB: Will you pull out any giant snakes?
BS: Ha, we'll see about that. Hopefully, I won't be in the wilderness onstage.

LB: What songs get you moving?
BS: I love "S&M" and "Only Girl" by Rihanna; that's why I jumped on the "S&M" remix. She's really cool. I like her a lot.

LB: Everybody has Bieber fever. Have you met Justin? Would you ever want to work with him?
BS: I think he's adorable. I just saw his movie, and I really didn't realize how big he was. He's enormous; he's just Mr. Man. A lot of the movie is really similar to what I did when I was starting out. I did a promo tour for a year, going into radio stations and all that. It was so cool to see our similarities.

LB: "It's Britney, bitch" is classic, but you say you're less bitchy than impatient. What makes you impatient?
BS: When things take a long time, I just get really stubborn. When I know that things are supposed to go a certain way [laughs] and when it's my time of the month.

LB: What makes you laugh uncontrollably?
BS: Usually when people trip or fall or run into something. Not to be mean, but I can't help it. If they really hurt themselves, then I feel bad, but if they accidentally do it and they stand up and act cool like nobody saw them, I have to laugh.

LB: It's been eight years since you kissed Madonna onstage at the MTV awards. What have you learned from her?
BS: I actually saw her a couple of weeks ago at a party. I guess she's really taught me to stay true to myself. That seems like a simple thing to say, but she taught me through action, not just by saying it. There are so many people around you that have opinions, but you just have to listen to your instincts.

LB: You've said Jennifer Lopez inspires you professionally. Would you ever want to be a judge on American Idol?
BS: I would! That would be awesome. I wouldn't be a tough judge, though.

LB: What do you think of Lady Gaga?
BS: She's unique and extremely talented. I love her spin on everything.

Britney Spears Lookalike Shocks Britain's Got Talent Judges

A BRITNEY Spears impersonator who spent £135,000 to look like her idol kisses Amanda Holden on tonight's Britain's Got Talent.

Superfan Lorna Bliss sprawls all over the judges' desk as she sings and dances to Toxic.

Then she plants a smacker on Amanda who, quoting Katy Perry's I Kissed A Girl, tells her: "I enjoyed it. I loved the taste of your cherry lipgloss. Despite reports that Lorna's routine was too hot for TV, the programme makers have insisted it will be shown tonight.

Lorna, who auditioned in Liverpool, has suffered for her art. When Britney shaved off all her hair, she did the same.

She revealed: "I've been impersonating Britney Spears since 2000 when she first came out on the scene.
"Making myself into Britney has taken 10 years of my life. The wigs, dental treatments, facials.
If she tightens up, I tighten up, if she puts on a bit of weight I'm like 'hey Pizza Hut, let's go'.

"When Britney shaved her hair off, I did it too. I've basically dedicated my whole being to being Britney.
"To perform at the Royal Variety would just be so awesome. I'd fly the flag for Britney and make her so proud."

Lorna, 28, from Cambridge, claims she earns around £45,000 a year as a Britney impersonator. But she spends £500 a month on her hair alone. Despite her best efforts on BGT, she received three buzzes and fled the stage. But when she returned, now wearing a cardigan, the judges were positive.

Judge Michael McIntyre said: "You came all the way over here, kissed Amanda and totally ignored me."
David Hasselhoff seemed to miss her singing and simply said: "I like your wardrobe very much."

You can find out if she finally makes it through tonight.

Britney Spears 3rd Single : 'I Wanna Go'

For Immediate Release:
May 13, 2011

Britney Spears Confirms “I Wanna Go” As The Next Single
From Her Platinum-Certified Album "Femme Fatale"

"Till The World Ends" Currently #1 Dance Song in The U.S.

New York, NY - Pop icon Britney Spears confirms that the summer-friendly, up-tempo “I Wanna Go” is the official third single from her platinum-certified Femme Fatale (Jive Records). “I Wanna Go” is produced by Shellback, Savan Kotecha and long-time collaborator Max Martin. Innovative director Chris Marrs Piliero has been tapped to direct the video.

I Wanna Go” comes on the heels of her most recent No. 1 smash hits, “Hold It Against Me” and “Till The World Ends” which ranks #1 on Billboard's Dance Club Songs chart. Both songs are from Britney's critically acclaimed seventh album. Billboard also notes that “Till The World Ends” coupled with the remix featuring Nicki Minaj and Ke$ha gives Spears a radio audience of 87 million in the U.S., which is “the highest weekly audience of her 12-and-a-half-year chart career.”

Britney’s Femme Fatale Tour with special guest Nicki Minaj, Jessie and the Toy Boys and Nervo kicks off June 16th in Sacramento, CA.

Hollywood Celebrities Reveal Fave Britney Spears Tune

On Wednesday night in Los Angeles, Britney Spears' supporters gathered to help the star raise funds for the St. Bernard Project. The Louisiana-based nonprofit helps those affected by Hurricane Katrina to rebuild their homes and their lives. And while much of the talk focused on the good the charity does, MTV News also asked the celeb guests which of Spears' songs would make the final cut on their playlists.

Britney fanatic Selena Gomez said, "Oh goodness! 'Slave 4 U,' that will always be, 'cause that was when it was like, 'Oh, she's not a girl anymore, she's a woman.' The controversy, I loved it!"

Christina Milian preferred one of Brit's more heartfelt songs. " 'Everytime,' it's emotional, and she's beautiful," Milian told us on the event's red carpet, where we saw a number of stars, including Kim Kardashian and Kellan Lutz. "She sang it great."

Spears' "Crossroads" co-star Taryn Manning knew Spears way back when, but her favorite song is a more contemporary Britney tune. " 'Till the World Ends' is incredible," she dished. "I think it's seriously one of her best songs, probably the reason why she went platinum like that."

Sabi, Spears' "(Drop Dead) Beautiful" collaborator, who's set to hit up some Femme Fatale Tour shows this summer, said, "Really, my favorite song had to be 'Toxic' or Slave 4 U. It's between those two. I just think those two are like so sexy, badass songs."

Hilary Duff found it hard to narrow it down. "I like everything," she said. "I liked the whole 'Toxic' thing. I really liked 'Womanizer'."

When Victoria Justice listens to Spears, she likes to kick it old school. "I'm a really big fan of her older stuff," she told us, "So, like, 'Overprotected' and 'Lucky'."

"Vampire Diaries" star Kat Graham enjoys both old and new Britney Spears. "I like 'Hold It Against Me,' I must say. I'm just kind of in with the times right now," she said. "But '... Baby One More Time' is always a classic."

Britney Spears Is Now A Comic Character

Pop superstar Britney Spears has become the latest celebrity to be immortalised in a comic book.

The 29-year-old singer's rise to stardom and highly publicised private life, has been turned into a series of comic books by Bluewater Productions, reported by Contactmusic.

"She is far more complicated than most people realise. No matter what preconceptions you have about her, there will always be more layers and surprises.
"Beyond the performer, there is a real human being there, struggling for a real life, struggling to connect with her art, and struggling to be understood," said writer Patrick McCray.

Other stars who have been given the comic book treatment by the firm include Twilight's Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, as well as Lady Gaga and Linsay Lohan.

Britney Spears : Will "I Wanna Go" Top The Charts ?

Posted by Katherine St Asaph

Britney Spears doesn’t just want to dance until the world ends — she wants to go all the way, too, and take her inner freak out. At least that’s what she says in “I Wanna Go,” the next Femme Fatale single, announced on fansite Breathe Heavy for a May 25-26 video shoot.

“I Wanna Go,” penned by Savan Kotecha — the guy behind Glee‘s original tracks — and produced by Spears stalwarts Max Martin and Shellback, doesn’t stray far from the Martin formula, with a club-tailored chorus, a Ke$hafied ”I-I-I wanna go-go-g0, all the way-ay-ay” stuttering and a slew of dance-pop allusions including a synth hook out of Ladytron’s “Runaway” and a whistle part that recalls “Living in Danger” by Ace of Base. The Britney storyline is intact, too.

“I’ve been told who I should do it with,” Britney sings, but worry not: she’s determined to let burst all the dirt in her mind through dancing and freakiness and not having her hands kept above the blanket — a rather disturbing bit of actual darkness. But things aren’t heavy at all — although Spears might be saying “shame on me to need release,” she does it with a giggle and coquettish chirp. So in other words, standard Britney.

The track’s certainly big and has become a bit of a fan favorite, but can it top “Till The World Ends,” which is even bigger and never broke #3 on the Hot 100? We say it’s got a shot.  After all, it’s much better than the just-as-plausible will.i.am collab.

Britney Spears vs Lady Gaga : Is It Relevant?

" Am I the only one who doesn't understand how people can even begin to compare Britney Spears with Lady Gaga??

They say that Gaga is breaking all of Brit's records, when in fact she hasn't at all.

Since Gaga has only put out two records, it is only fair to compare them to Britney's career at the time of her first two records.

Britney's first Album debuted at #1 and went on to sell 10,000,000 copies in it's first year in the U.S.

Gaga's first Album debuted at #17 (and never went to #1) and went on to sell 3,000,000 copies in its first year in the U.S.

Britney's second Album debuted at #1 and sold 500,000 copies in it's first day of release in the U.s., 1.4 million copies in it's first week in the U.S., (stayed at the #2 spot for 14 weeks) and went on to sell 8 million copies in it's first year in the U.S.

Gaga's second Album debuted at #5 (and never went to #1) and went on to sell 1.4 million copies within it's first year in the U.S.

Okay, so from the first 2 albums from both artists we have Britney at 18 million in the U.S. to Gaga's 4.4 million in the U.S.

Britney's first 2 albums both debuted at number one, and both stayed on the Top 200 album list for a combined 185 weeks (which is about 20 weeks shy of 4 years)

Gaga's first 2 albums debuted at number 17, and 5 respectively.

Gaga is in no way, shape, or form on the same level as Britney Spears.

Sure Gaga has gained popularity and will probably have a few #1 albums.... but when an artist takes time to gain popularity- it can usually fade over time too.

Britney has been HUGE and obsessed over from the word go... and if she has lasted 12 years... people need to realize that her star power isn't fading any time soon

You cannot compare their facebook fans, or twitter fans or video views and then call Gaga the queen of pop. Let me tell you a little secret, the biggest majority of Britney's fanbase aren't big internet users.

Britney has made 30 music videos, been on 8 tours, sold 100 million copies world wide, has released 30 singles, 6 albums, 5 of them number one albums, 3 compilation albums, 3 video albums

Britney has performed with Michael Jackson, Madonna, Madonna wanted to Record a song with Britney, so they did....

If anyone is the Queen of Pop, it is Britney, hands down.

Gaga goes to the studio and wears outlandish costumes and there might be 25 articles written about her.

Britney goes to the studio and wears jeans and a shirt and there will be hundreds of articles written about her.

In ten years- if Gaga is still one of the most talked about Celebrities and is pulling in 60 million dollars a year (like britney is now), can put out singles and albums that go to #1 without ANY interviews or promotion OR performances on TV of any kind... and has had the sort of career Britney has had, then I will gladly welcome the discussion of Gaga being the reigning Queen of pop.

Until then... I am TIRED of seeing the comparisons. It is just foolish "

12 Years Ago...Britney Spears' "Sometimes" MV World Premieres

Britney's second single off her debut album, ...Baby One More Time, debuted on April 30, 1999 and the music video premiered just a week later on MTV's Total Request Live.

The "Sometimes" video was directed by Nigel Dick, who was also behind the artistic direction for "...Baby One More Time," "(You Drive Me) Crazy" and "Oops!...I Did It Again." Because Britney injured her knee during video rehearsals, the shoot was postponed to April 9-10, 1999 in Malibu, CA.

The "Sometimes" music video depicts Britney as a sweet, fun-loving girl-next-door, and opens with Britney watching her love interest (played by Abercrombie & Fitch model Chad Cole) from afar, wishing she were with him. Much of the dance scenes take place on the Paradise Cove pier, with Britney and her dancers dressed all in beach-friendly white attire.
